What did I learn about Spain #Culture through this Erasmus Year?
My roommates gave me white sugar bread with nuts. She said it is traditional bread in Spain. I can't remember the name exactly, because it was Spanish. So, I wanted to take a picture to buy later. It was tasty. But she said her mother put this in a different tin. It is not the original package. I think I need to take the inside of the tin. Anyway, it was so nice and I ate this every afternoon. She gave me a lot.
When I was planning my Erasmus Year, I researched about Spain and Spanish food. I found the Spain seafood was the best. Especially, the Paella. It is a traditional food in Spain. I tried this when I was in Barcelona and I love this too much. Everyone will like this include Asians. I wanna go to a restaurant to get the Paella but it was quite expensive and dangerous to eat in. I decided to get a Paella and cook in my house. Doing grocery shopping, I found Paella Jelly also with frozen Paella. Jelly Paella looked really cute and it just looks like a real one. I Think the Paella is not only traditional food but also typical food that symbolized Spain. The Paella equal Spain. Also, Seafood quality is so nice. Paella is delicious because of the fresh and various seafood. I've had a lot of seafood in the UK and South Korea, but the Spanish thing is totally different. I don't know how to explain this, I am not a professional chef. However, they have a different seafood quality. The Gambas is great food and famous food in Spain. I bought fresh seafood and made Gambas on my own.

Christmas was coming! I wanted to know how they are spending Christmas in Spain. The first place I could feel Christmas is coming was the Shopping center. This place is located middle of Getafe and the Centre of Madrid. They were selling many Christmas stuff and decorations. Many people were buying those and I can't control them either. I needed to buy some decorations too. I couldn't buy huge things, it is expensive and I can't handle them. I bought little hanging decoration stuff and bags there is a Christmas tree on it. Sparkling lights and decorations were in the shopping centre. Spanish people think Christmas is important to them. Having a Christmas dinner with family is a traditional thing in Spain. This is similar to the UK and South Korea. I was kinda missing my family. I can't go back to my family at Christmas. South Korea is so far from here and the flight has been deleted and canceled due to the Covid situation. I called my family when I get back home. They also really missed me.
📌Tip. You need to go to the Paraquesur in Christmas Season. There are many Christmas Market on the street. Also, Centre of Madrid.
Not only for Shopping Centre, but Centre of Getafe also ready for Christmas. There was Christmas Market on the street and they sell Christmas traditional food and stuff.
Finally Christmas! I spent with my friend who came to Spain for me. My roommates got home already. I and my friend spent a very nice Christmas. We made some Chicken and Pasta. Also, we put some dessert cake to celebrate. The Christmas carol and Red Wine made us Merry Christmas.
Happy New year!! First time I get a new year in Spain. Nothing special to me to be honest. I saw fireworks on the street and see the Spanish are having a great time. I just buy a balloons 'Happy New Year' with my friend. We put it on the wall and made Korean Traditional food called Tteokguk (Rice cake soup). Koreans eat this every new year. It's for celebrating the new year and also the meaning of getting one year old.
