[Spain Erasmus] 3. What did I Experience?

What did I #Experience through this Erasmus Year in Spain?
I haven't heard about the Getafe before. The name of this city is fairly not used to. Thanks to this Erasmus Year, I experienced the Getafe, Madrid extremely well. There was a Japanese store around my house. There were not many Korean foods were existed but still so happy about this. In addition, the Getafe has a very beautiful street and many big grocery shops. I got to the Getafe city centre, many people were around there. I was so surprised, in Spain, everyone wears a mask and they use Hand sanitizer. They really looked like they care about disinfection and safety. I have a kind of prejudice against Europe. I watched much news they are not wearing a mask and even they don't care about the Covid 19. I came here myself, not all of Europe is applicable to this. Spain is really working well on the protection from viruses. I was ashamed of this and realized I have many prejudices that I've got from TV and SNS. I shouldn't say before I experienced that. I decided the Internet information is just for references. It is not always true. By the way, I liked everything about here. However, one thing, The language was my problem. I learned Spanish before that I arrived here. Although, my Spanish speaking skills are not high that much. I had some communication troubles with people. I thought they speak English most people, unfortunately, no one. mostly no one can speak English. It was a nightmare.
Then, I went the UC3M Getafe Campus. It is quite different from Coventry University. They have a fence to gather the uni. On the other hand, Coventry Campus spreads all in Coventry city. Especially, I loved the Gym. They have a swimming pool, soccer glass, and Spa. I can't believe it. I hope these are in Coventry too. I really wanted to go to the Spa one. Sadly, Covid makes me scared to go there. If I get there, it would have the best time I ever had. The Library was smaller than I thought. Only second floor and small places. But, I got the information in the future, there is another library building on Campus.
📌Tip. If someone wants to go to UC3M University, You need to go Sports centre. I was confused about campus. It was too big and there were so many buildings. Also, hard to find a classroom. I asked so many times to my roommates. These maps will help you.
TMI, I loved my house very much. My favorite place was the corner of the house. So cool decoration. Looks warm and cozy. I think it was a good job that I get this house. Taking this Shared house is so picky. In my opinion, it's so hard to get a house in Spain. However, I was a lucky person. My friend in Spain, she helps me to get a house. So delightful.
📌Tip. If you want to get a house or a shared room in Spain, the 'idealista' is the typical one in Spain. Many people are using this. But use Spanish when you send a message to them. I did many times, If you use English, you wouldn't get any answers. Basically, they don't speak English and they don't want to get a person who can't speak Spanish sadly. It's better if you have a friend in Spain, ask them to contact them. I think the uni accommodation is the best way. If you want to get in uni accommodation, you need to good score of the high school or 1,2year university. It's expensive but not too much. I don't know exactly, it is about 600Euro.
📌Tip. In Getafe, there are many grocery shops, but I recommended the Mercadona and Ahorramas. Especially, in Mercadona, there are many things not normal. Good to look around here. Also, I think it's better to take a metro to go to the Parquesur Shopping center. There are so many shops to do the shopping and the Alcampo grocery shop is here. It is the biggest grocery shop in Spain. I really hard to find American's, British's and Asian's in Getafe. But all various foodstuffs are located here. Especially, peanut butter.
Snowing in Spain! I haven't heard about the Snow in Spain. But today, I saw the snow. I haven't seen any snow in 2 years. Because I lived in the UK. IN the UK, there is not too much snow. Just snowing like raining. So, I really wanna see heavy snowing. Also, I really wanna make a snowman. When I was in South Korea, there is heavy snow in winter always. I sometimes made very big snowman with my friends and family. Snow has huge meaning to me. Snowing day makes me through back to the time. I went out and stepped on the snow. It felt so nice. I made a small adorable snowman with my roommates. It doesn't look like a proper snowman but it is so perfect to me. We had a great time. I really hope I can take the snowman into my room.
