At first, my idea was to make a documentary about my friend who graduated from Media Production. But there was a lot of better ideas and I also had a pen pal before, so I thought I wanted to make a warm video on this subject.
We first made a picture with the theme of pen pals letters. It was an idea of a friend Cody, but I thought it was a good idea to make a video, so I joined that group. it was an interesting topic. So we made team with Sam, Mike, Minyoung, Cody.
At the first meeting, we decided each role and My role is sound. Cody is an editor and Mike is a producer, Sam and Minyoung is a camera. And we simply thought of how we would make a movie, we decided to go with a warm feeling. In the beginning, penpal was the theme, so we decided to start a video like writing a letter or writing sound source. And we decided to express penpal ‘s coming from various places with pins pinned on the map.
At the second meeting, I met the time of the meeting with pen pal friend to be interviewed and what equipment to rent. We discussed what kind of angle we should have, and I asked our team members what kind of sound we needed with the microphone. I thought we need touching sound and some writing sound. And we talked about background music, we wanted to feel warmer. Team members also gave the opinion that it would be better if the cello or the piano were singing.
We went to his friend’s house and filmed. We filmed in her room and in the kitchen. We were really happy because the atmosphere of the house itself was as warm as we thought. Sam and Minyoung set up the camera and I turned on the microphone and confirmed the sound. And I checked out the Rifle microphone. And I checked and checked the sound again. because sounds are really important to our project. I had the most pleasantly interviewed and filmed the shots I had. The shooting atmosphere was very good.
At first, we filmed only in the room and we moved the place to the kitchen. The room was a different feeling, and there was a lot of beautiful shots because the back yard is so beautiful. And the room and the other sunlight, the lighting was also different, so it was the same house but it was a different atmosphere. Penpal friend gave me a good deal of sound and she borrowed penpal letters and accessories that he had. we were really thanks to her.
